1st Grade: October 4, 2017

This week, we learned about another animal in Spanish.  Each week, as we learn more vocabulary words, we're able to say more about each of the animals in Spanish!

As I introduce new animals, I describe them all in Spanish, and students show me a "thumbs up" if they want to guess what animal it is.  This week, I set out all of our animals and let them take turns describing animals (all in Spanish!) to their classmates.  We had a lot of fun describing and guessing!

Ask your student:
  • What is an animal that can nada and vuela?  (A pato -duck- can both swim and fly.)

      Homework:
Note:  In first grade, most of our Spanish homework consists of watching short videos or songs to reinforce the vocabulary we learn in class.
      • Watch this video to practice our weather vocabulary words.
      • Watch THIS VIDEO to practice the animal action verbs (there is a new verb in there that we'll learn next week!)
