4/5/6: April 30, 2014

In class today, we had our final day of "No inglés."  While we didn't have time to finish everything, I was impressed at how well the students did speaking only in Spanish.


Ask your student:
  • What was your favorite station of the "no inglés" day?  (We had 5 stations, but only had time for each group to visit 4.  The stations were:  Reading/Books, Music, Poetry, Theater, and Toma Todo.)

2/3 Grade: April 30, 2014

Today in class, we talked some more about the Costa Rican Coquí and we played Toma Todo, a traditional Mexican game.

Ask your student:
  • Can you sing the Coquí song?  (Linked below.)



  • What is this?  (It's a pirinola, a wooden top used in the Toma Todo game.)

  • Practice the numbers Spanish numbers from 0-60 with these games!
    • As a challenge we tried playing THIS game as a class!

In class this week, we learned about several more forms of transportation in Spanish.

  • You talked about 7 forms of transportation in Spanish class (plane, train, boat, car, bus, bike, and walking)  Which one is your favorite?

Today in class, we learned some more shape words!  Next time, we'll review them with a fun BINGO game.

  • Can you show me the book you made in Spanish class?  (Students brought home their "shape walk" books.)

    • nada = nothing = wave hands palms facing down
    • me falta = is lacking to me = place hands at side, palms facing upward.
