4th/5th/6th Grade: April 27, 2016

Today in class, we finished talking about Joan Miró.  Students got to draw their own Miró inspired masterpieces and describe them (in Spanish!) to a classmate.  Based on the Spanish description, the classmate had to try to draw a replica of the drawing without having seen it.

Ask your student:
  • Who were the amigos del día in class today?  What did you learn about them?  (Today, we had two amigos del día:  a girl who has several pets and a boy who likes Harry Potter books.)
  • What did your Miró inspired drawing look like?  What was it supposed to be?

Kindergarten: April 27, 2016

Today, we continued to practice and review the animal action words.  We also learned about two new animals.

***Next week will be "amigo" day in class!!  Each student is invited to bring ONE stuffed animal to Spanish class.  We will use our stuffed amigos for some games and speaking activities.  If your student forgets to bring an amigo, I have some extras he or she may borrow for the day.

In class today, we learned a few more words for describing people.  Using our new vocabulary we played a game for drawing more characters.

Today in class, we continued to learn about Joan Miró.  We focused on expressing comparisons in Spanish.

3rd Grade: April 13, 2016

Oh, no.  Someone stole Pedro's cheese!  Before break, students drew the faces of possible suspects and described them in Spanish.  This week, we lined up all of the pictures and had the descriptions all typed up on a suspect sheet.  Students worked to match the pictures to descriptions.  They were great detectives!
