2/3: April 24, 2013

Notice:  On April 30, Posterous will be shutting down.  I'm in the process of moving all of the content to the new (HC)2 Spanish Blog.
We're finishing up the year by spending a few weeks talking about the most popular sport in the Spanish speaking world, fútbol!
Ask your student:
  •  Did you participate in the number challenge?  How did you do?  (To finish practicing numbers, students had the chance to "guess my number" in as few guesses as possible.)
This week's vocabulary
  • el portero ~ the goalie
  • el campo ~ the field
  • el balón ~ the ball
  • mete un gol ~ to score a goal.

    Homework:
    • Practice our vocabulary words HERE.
    • Optional:  HERE are some soccer related words we won't have a chance to learn in class, but if you love fútbol, you might enjoy learning them.
    • Extra Opportunity!  FINDING NEMO in SPANISH!  Come the HCHS auditorium on Friday, May 3 at 7pm to see Finding Nemo in Spanish with English subtitles.   Donations of $2 for adults and $1 for children 12 & under.  Crazy Carnival Cravings will sell snacks - come hungry.  All proceeds go to HCJB Global's work in Shell, Ecuador where HC students will travel this summer.
