2nd and 3rd Grade: September 13, 2017

In Spanish this week, we continued to learn pet vocabulary!  Through this unit, we will be practicing various forms of the verb "to have," and we will be learning the names for pets/animals in Spanish.  Based on what the students have told me, some of you have some very interesting pets!  In class, we also completed a short reading activity/logic puzzle where we matched descriptions to pictures.

Ask your student:
  • Do you we have any "culebras" around our house?  (The word "culebra" means snake.  While most of you don't have snakes as pets, a lot of students told me you have snakes around your homes.)
Vocabulary:
Words in bold are new this week, others are review.
  • el pez - the fish
  • la culebra - the snake
  • el conejo - the rabbit
  • tengo - I have
  • tienes - you have
  • tiene - he/she has
  • la mascota - the pet
  • el perro - the dog
  • el gato - the cat

    Homework:
    • Bible Memory:  This semester, we'll be memorizing 2 Corinthians 13:11 as an (HC)2 group.  We will practice memorizing this verse in Spanish.
