3rd Grade: October 7, 2015

This week, we finished learning pet-related vocabulary words.  We practiced our vocabulary words by illustrating silly Spanish sentences.  Next week, we'll have the chance to talk about our pets in Spanish!

**On Wednesday, October 14, students will be able to bring a picture of their pet(s) to class.  Students can bring in an actual photograph, a drawing, or you can email me a digital picture that I will add to a slide show (ambrouwer@hollandchristian.org).  Students will introduce their pet to the class in Spanish.  If you don't have a pet, your student can choose to draw/find/email me a picture of their dream pet, a friend/family member's pet, or talk about a favorite animal instead.

Ask your student:
  • Do you remember what silly sentence your group illustrated?  (We had some silly sentences...even one about a snake eating pizza!)
  • Which pet or animal do you want to talk about in Spanish?  (Señora Brouwer doesn't have a pet, she'll be talking about Remington, her brother's new puppy!)

Homework:
  • This week, there is no Quia assignment.  The assignment was handed out in class.  If you misplaced the paper, you can click HERE to print a new copy.  You will be preparing to tell your classmates all about your pet in Spanish!
  • If you were unable to complete previous Quia assignments, you may always complete them later and still earn a sticker!
  • A note about assignments:  These are for students to practice.  Most questions Quia is able to grade automatically and give instant feedback.  Students may retry questions or the entire assignment as often as they want.  If a student is "stuck" with vocabulary, the vocabulary list above is a great resource.
  • Bible Memory Verse!
    • Canten al Señor con alegría, toda la tierra.  Con alegría adoren al Señor; ¡con gritos de alegría vengan a su presencia!  Salmos 100:1-2 (cien, versículo uno y dos)
    • Audio version
