1st Grade: March 21, 2018

This week we quickly reviewed the Yo Veo and Mis Crayones books.  Then, we began reading our final new book together new book together:  Me gusta (I like).  Next week, we'll continue working with the book as students participate in centers and personalize their books.

Ask your student:
  • Today you read a book in Spanish class.  What was it about?  (It was about all kinds of things that you might like--like reading, playing, and ice cream.)

  • Me gusta - I like
  • leer - to read
  • jugar - to play
  • el helado - ice cream 
  • la primavera - the spring
  • Este - this
  • es - is
  • un - a/one
  • crayón - crayon
  • Colores - colors (review of 10 basic colors)
    • azul - blue
    • amarillo - yellow
    • rojo - red
    • verde - green 
    • morado - purple
    • naranja (or anaranjado) - orange
    • blanco - white
    • negro - black 
    • gris - gray
    • café (or pardo, or marrón) - brown
  • yo - I/me
  • veo - I see
  • globos - balloons
  • Numbers 1-10
Homework:
Note:  In first grade, most of our Spanish homework consists of watching short videos or songs to reinforce the vocabulary we learn in class.
  • Colors song!  It's a fast paced song, but a fun way to review colors in Spanish!
  • Watch this video to practice our weather vocabulary words.
