3rd Grade: March 2, 2016

Today in class we continued new unit.  We'll be learning vocabulary to describe people.  This week we started by reviewing the vocabulary to describe eyes and learning the vocabulary to describe hair.

Ask your student:
  • Do you remember how to say what color hair you have? (See vocabulary list below.)
This week's vocabulary:
  • New
    • el pelo - the hair
    • el cabello - the hair (used in some Spanish speaking countries.  In class, we'll stick with "el pelo.")
    • el pelo rubio - blonde hair
    • el pelo castaño - brown hair
    • el pelo negro - black hair
    • el pelo rojo - red hair
    • el pelo canoso - gray hair 
    • calvo - bald
  • Review
    • tiene-he/she has
    • tengo - I have
    • tienes - you have
    • ojos azules - blue eyes
    • ojos verdes - green eyes
    • ojos grises - gray eyes
    • ojos castaños - brown eyes

    • As promised, here's a BATTLESHIP game to practice our vocabulary from the past two weeks.
    • Last week's game:  Play THIS GAME to practice the "eye" vocabulary words.  See how much money you can earn!!  Sorry, it's not real money ;)  
  • Quia Assignment due March 9, 2016 (worth 2 stickers)
  • Second Semester Bible Memory
    • This semester, we'll be memorizing two short passages in Spanish.  Students received a hard copy of the verses in class.  If your student misplaced the paper, you can print a new copy HERE.
    • Verses for January and February
