Kindergarten: October 8, 2014

This week, we started a new unit all about zoo animals.  We'll be learning the names of animals in Spanish.  We'll also learn to talk about things that the animals DO.  For more information on our Animal Unit, click HERE.

Ask your student:

  • What were the 3 animals you talked about in Spanish class?  Do you remember how to say their names in Spanish?  (el pez=the fish, el pájaro=the bird, la rana=the frog)
  • What does a bird do?  Or ask: "How do you say 'flies' in Spanish?"  (Vuela = he/she flies)
This week's vocabulary:
  • el pájaro - the bird
  • el pez - the fish
  • la rana - the frog
  • nada - he/she swims
  • vuela - he/she flies
  • salta - he/she jumps
Homework:
  • Practice our vocabulary words with this ANIMAL SLIDE SHOW
  • Listen and sing along with our new songs:  ¿Quién es el rey de la selva?
  • Practice our Bible verse and actions:  Proverbs 3:5  (Click verse for Audio)
    • Confía = trust = take open hands, and clasp them shut, as if you're grabbing on to something.
    • en el Señor = in the Lord = point up to heaven
    • de todo = with all = hold arms out wide
    • corazón = heart = bring your arms in, and make a heart with your hands
