1st Grade: March 29, 2017

This week, we continued practicing community related vocabulary all in Spanish.  We began creating a book of places in our community together.

Ask your student:
  • What TWO places did you illustrate for the book? (Everyone chose a place last week, and we added extra places this week.  Be sure to watch for the book to come home after spring break!) 
Vocabulary
Words in bold are new this week, others are review.
  • el parque - the park
  • la estación de bomberos - the fire station
  • oficina de correos - post office
  • biblioteca -library
  • gente - people
  • el policía - the police officer
  • el cartero - the mail carrier
  • el pastor - the pastor/minister
  • el hospital - the hospital
  • la escuela - the school
  • la tienda - the store
  • la maestra - the teacher
  • el médico - the doctor
  • el vecino - the neighbor (boy)
  • la vecina - the neighbor (girl)
  • el bombero - the firefighter
  • la casa - the house
  • el supermercado - the supermarket
  • la iglesia - the church
    Homework:
    • Fun ways to practice Spanish at home!

      • Use the maps and people from class to play along with THIS video.
