2nd Grade: September 9, 2015

This week in Spanish, we began learning the vocabulary for our first unit.  We'll be learning words and phrases to talk about our 5 senses in Spanish.  This week, we focused on our eyes and seeing.

We also spent some time practicing numbers in Spanish.  This week, we practiced numbers 1-20.

Finally, we began learning our Bible memory verse (Psalm 100) in Spanish.  See the homework links below for more information!

Ask your student:
  • If Señora Brouwer says "Oh, alumnos" what do you say back?  ("Oh alumnos" means "Oh, students."  Students reply by saying, "Sí, maestra" which means "Yes, teacher.")
  • Do you remember what "veo, veo" means in Spanish?  (It means "I see, I see."  It's what you say to start a game of "I spy.")
This week's vocabulary:
  • veo - I see
  • ve - he/she sees
  • los ojos - the eyes
Homework:
  • Bible Memory Verse!
  • This year, all of the (HC)2 Students will be memorizing Psalm 100 during the first semester.  We will also be memorizing part of it in Spanish class!  This week, we started by learning just the first two verses in Spanish.
