2nd Grade: September 16, 2015

This week in Spanish, we began learning the vocabulary for our first unit.  We continued learning about our five senses in Spanish.  We focused on our ears and hearing.  We also practiced our Bible memory verse (Psalm 100), and we played a game in Spanish to review the numbers 1-24.

Ask your student:
  • Do you remember what the difference is between "orejas" and "oídos"?  (They both mean "ears."  However, your orejas are the part of your ears that you can see.  Your oídos are the inner part of your ears.)
This week's vocabulary:
  • veo - I see
  • ve - he/she sees
  • los ojos - the eyes
  • escucho - I listen
  • escucha - he/she listens
  • los oídos - the (inner) ears
  • las orejas - the (outer) ears
  • habla bajo - he/she speaks softly
  • habla fuerte - he/she speaks loudly
Homework:
  • Sing along with our 5 Senses song in Spanish.  We've only listened to the first two verses...more to come next week!
  • Bible Memory Verse!
  • This year, all of the (HC)2 Students will be memorizing Psalm 100 during the first semester.  We will also be memorizing part of it in Spanish class!  This week, we started by learning just the first two verses in Spanish.
    • Canten al Señor con alegría, toda la tierra.  Con alegría adoren al Señor; ¡con gritos de alegría vengan a su presencia!  Salmos 100:1-2 (cien, versículo uno y dos)
    • Audio version
