1st Grade: September 23, 2015

This week, we started class by talking about the weather.  After that, we practiced the Bible memory verse.  The first grade students are doing so well, that we're going to add verse two next week!  We learned about two more farm animals in Spanish, and we finished class by playing a game!

Ask your student:
  • What new animal did you learn about this week?  (This week we learned the phrase "el gallo" = the rooster and "el cerdo" = the pig)
  • What does a rooster say in Spanish?  (They don't say "cock a doodle doo."  In Spanish, they say "qui quir ri quiiiiiiiii")
  • What game did you play in Spanish class?  (With a partner, students drew all 5 animals that we've learned so far.  Señora Brouwer would say something in Spanish describing one of the animals.  Students would bring the correct picture to the front of the room.)
