2/3: February 26, 2014

Today in class, we continued learning some restaurant vocabulary.  Students even practiced a simple dialogue between a waiter and guest!  Students who want to, will present their little "skits" to the class next week!  (Don't worry, there's nothing to memorize and no pressure to present a skit if you don't want to!  Even students who were absent this week will be able to participate.)

Ask your student:
  • Do you have any ideas for restaurant names for your Spanish conversation?  (As part of the mini-conversation, students will come up with a name for their restaurant.  It can be simple (El Restaurante de __student's name__) or creative!)

Today's vocabulary:
  • Review from last week
  • ¿Algo más?  - Anything else?
  • La cuenta, por favor.  - The bill, please
  • Cuesta - It costs

Homework:
  • Watch this video of Pedro and his friend acting out a restaurant scene!
  • Keep practicing our vocabulary words with THIS game!
  • Bible Verse.  A lot students tried to say the verse today, but they need just a little more practice!  Try to be ready to say the verse for me by March 5.  Click on the audio version to hear the verse as you practice:  Philippians 4:13 (Audio Version)
  • Practice the numbers Spanish numbers from 0-60 with these games!
  • Sing along with our new song:  Tengo paz como un río
  • Earlier, we talked about seasons and weather in Costa Rica.  Listen to THIS SONG a few times to practice some of those words.
