Kindergarten: March 11, 2015

Today in class, we started our new unit!  Over the next few weeks, we'll be learning traditional action songs and hand claps from the Spanish speaking world.

Ask your student:
  • You learned a new song in Spanish class today.  What was it about?  (It was about 5 mice playing.)
This week's vocabulary:
  • Un Ratoncito Sale de la Cueva
    • Un ratoncito - a mouse
    • salen - they leave or go out
    • la cueva - the cave
    • mueven - they move
    • el hocico - the snout
    • juegan - they play
    • a la ronda - in a circle
  • 5 ratoncitos salen de la cueva, mueven el hocico, juegan a la ronda.
  • 5 little mice go out of the cave, they move their snouts, play in a circle.
  • The song counts down (4 mice, 3 mice...) until just one mouse is left.
Homework:
  • Watch our new song and practice the actions!  5 Ratoncitos
  • We also learned another new song!  Sing along!  Alele, alelu, alelu, aleluya
  • Practice our Bible verse and actions:  Psalm 23:1  (Click verse for Audio).
    • el Señor = the Lord = point up to heaven
    • es mi = is my = point to self
    • pastor = shepherd = pretend to hold a staff in one hand, put other hand by forehead as if you're looking out over a field of sheep.
    • nada = nothing = wave hands palms facing down
    • me falta = is lacking to me = place hands at side, palms facing upward.
