Ask your student:
- Do you remember what the "action" is for Joseph? (Every time I say "José" in Spanish, students pretend to saw a piece of wood. Since Joseph was a carpinter, the action helps us remember that José means Joseph.)
- Do you have your book about Spanish colors? Can you show it to me? (Each week, we begin class with a small coloring sheet. It's a good transition from lunch recess. Since the beginning of the year, our coloring sheets have focused on different colors. Students were able to bring the completed books home this week. Since the coloring sheets are used as a transition activity, not everyone is able to finish coloring each week. Your student may want to add some finishing touches at home!)
Words in bold are new this week, others are review.
- María - Mary
- José - Joseph
- el Niño Jesús - the Baby Jesus
Homework:
Note: In
Kindergarten, most of our Spanish homework consists of watching short
videos or songs to reinforce the vocabulary we learn in class.
- Want to listen to the songs we'll be singing in class this Christmas?
- Colors song! It's a fast paced song, but a fun way to review colors in Spanish!
