2nd and 3rd Grade: November 29, 2017

Today in class, we finished our unit about Peru by learning about Machu Picchu and looking at some traditional clothing.  We also played a Jeopardy-style game (linked in the Homework section) to review everything we learned.

Ask your student:
  • Do you remember what Machu Picchu is?  (It is an old palace for an emperor/lost city of the Incas.  The mountain in the background looks like a face if you turn it on its side.)
  • Do you remember what "Machu Picchu" means?  ("Machu Picchu" comes from the Quechua language.  It means "the old mountain.")
Vocabulary:
Words in bold are new this week, others are review.
