1st Grade: February 21, 2018

This week, we started a new unit.  Over the next few weeks, we'll be learning the words and phrases that we've been learning all year to read, illustrate, and eventually write our own mini books in Spanish!

Ask your student:
  • Today you read a book in Spanish class.  What was it like? (It was a balloon counting book.  Next week, we'll do some activities to go along with the book and your student will bring the book home to read to you!)

Vocabulary
Words in bold are new this week, others are review
  • yo - I/me
  • veo - I see
  • globos - balloons
  • Numbers 1-10
Homework:
Note:  In first grade, most of our Spanish homework consists of watching short videos or songs to reinforce the vocabulary we learn in class.
  • Colors song!  It's a fast paced song, but a fun way to review colors in Spanish!
  • Watch this video to practice our weather vocabulary words.
  • Sing along with our 5 Senses song in Spanish.  We've only listened to the first two verses...more to come next week!
