Ask your student:
- What foods did you sample in class today? What did you think about them? (We sampled mangú (mashed plantain) and morir soñando (orange juice and milk drink). The mangú got mixed reviews from the students, but almost everyone liked the morir soñando. Many students wanted to make these recipes at home. The recipes I used are linked in the Homework section.)
- What word doesn't exist in Spanish? (Just like we don't have a word for "mangú" they don't have a word for "fudge" in Spanish. We describe mangú as mashed plantains. In Spanish they would talk about fudge as a sweet made from chocolate and cream.)
