1st Grade: November 2, 2016

This week, started a new unit:  Mi Familia/My Family.  During this unit, we'll be learning how to describe our families in Spanish.

Ask your student:

• Do you remember how to say "mom" and "dad" in Spanish?  (la mamá-mom; el papá-dad)

Vocabulary
Words in bold are new this week, others are review.

• Weather (All review this week!  We'll continue reviewing weather vocabulary each week this year.)
• está nevando - it's snowing
• está lloviendo - it's raining
• hace viento - it's windy
• hace sol - it's sunny
• está nublado - it's cloudy
• hace frío - it's cold
• hace calor - it's hot
• hace fresco - it's cool/not too hot, not too cold
• Family Vocabulary Words
• la mamá - the mom
• el papá - the dad
• el hermano - the brother
• la hermana - the sister
• yo - I (me)

• Watch the first half of this video.  It reviews 4 of our new vocabulary words.
