2nd and 3rd Grade: February 22, 2017

Today in class we continued talking about Costa Rica.  This week, we learned about the money they use in Costa Rica.  We also made a number game that we'll play in class next week.

Ask your student:
  • In Costa Rica, if something costs 560 colones, how many dollars is that?  (560 colones is the same as $1.)
  • What were some of the numbers you wrote down for the game?  (Students helped me make a number matching game by writing a number on a piece of blue paper and then writing out the number-in Spanish-on a piece of green paper.  Next week, we'll use everyone's numbers to play a matching game.)

Today's vocabulary
Words in bold are new this week, others are review.
  • el dinero - the money
  • colones - Colones, Costa Rica's currency
  • la capital - the capital
  • el dinero - the money
  • Centroamérica - Central America
