5th and 6th Grade: December 6, 2017

This week, we met two "amigos del día."  We had a lot of time for speaking Spanish!  We also talked a bit more about how to express likes and dislikes in Spanish with the phrase "me gusta."  We learned some Christmas-related vocabulary as we shared what things we like about "la Navidad."

Ask your student:
  • Who were the amigos del día?  What did you learn about them?  (One amiga del día was a girl who is right handed and likes to volunteer at the Critter Barn.  The other was a boy who does not like baseball or videogames, but he does like basketball and flying in airplanes.)
Vocabulary:
Words in bold are new this week, others are review.

Expressing likes and dislikes:  When we talked about Ormie the Pig and Don Quixote, we learned about verb phrases that use two verbs, and the second verb ends with an R (Example:  quiere comer = he/she wants to eat).  When expressing likes and dislikes with the verb "gusta" the second verb also ends with R.
