Kindergarten: April 19, 2017

In class today, we finished our Animal unit!  Students brought home the animal books we've been working on in class over the last few weeks.

Ask your student:
  • What is an "oso"?  How do you say what color it is in Spanish? (A oso is a bear.  They are marrón or café - brown.)

This week's vocabulary:

  • el oso - the bear
  • el león - the lion
  • el mono - the monkey
  • come - he/she eats
  • anaranjado - orange
  • negro - black
  • el tigre - the tiger
  • corre - he/she runs

  • canta - he/she sings

  • el pájaro - the bird
  • vuela - he/she flies

  • lento/lenta - slow

  • salta - he/she jumps
  • dice - he/she says
  • el pez - the fish
  • nada - he/she swims
  • pequeño - small

Homework:
  • Watch THIS VIDEO to practice the animal action words. 
  • We learned a fun rhyme and hand clap from Spain to use up a little extra energy.  Watch the video and practice the actions!  ChocolateChocolate (jumping game).

      • El hombre prudente - point to head (wise)
      • construyó - one fist over other, like you're building
      • su casa - hands over head like a roof
      • sobre - hands make a flat surface

      • siete - hold up 7 fingers
      • versículo - one fist on top of the other like a colon
